Gum arabic

Gum arabic is a high molecular weight polysaccharide that is a mucilage of sap from the trees of the acacia genus of the legume family. Acacia trees grow in an area called Gambert, which lies between 10 and 20 degrees north latitude across the African continent. Among them, it is said that it is most produced in Sudan.

It has a compact molecular structure and is characterized by containing proteins. It is also used in the fields of foods, pharmaceuticals, and industrial products due to its excellent emulsion stability and coating function.

Gum arabic, which comes from two species, Senegal and Seyal, is used in food and medicine. In general, Senegalese have excellent emulsifying power, and so gum arabic of Senegal tends to be used for the purpose of stabilizing emulsion.

Headquarters has developed a business partnership with UM-AL-GURA, which is an exclusive sales business of gum arabic gum from Sudan in Japan.
